I informed as many SCCoA members as I could that I wanted to get a little mini meet going while I was in Tulsa, Ok on Jan 24, 1998. In the weeks that followed I received several e-mails from fellow SC owners that heard about a chance to meet other members and cars in Tulsa. I also wanted to meet fellow MN12 car enthusiasts and swap information. I hope this story and the future ones will inspire others to hold mini meets in their home towns! Around noon people started showing up with their Thunderbirds at the Best Western in Owasso, OK. located just outside of Tulsa. We were lucky with a bright sunny day to allow us all to spend time outside looking in and under the cars that had shown up that day. I enjoyed meeting Tim Smith's ('91 SC), Stacy McClain's (94 SC), Bruce Longwell's (95 SC), & Steve Watson's (97 4.6L). We spent hours talking about our cars and what we all have either done or want to do. At the end of the day several of us decided to get a bite to eat and by the time the mini meet was over in Tulsa it was 9:00pm! Can't wait until the next SCCoA mini meet and I hope this mini meet concept will catch on!
