Whats the best way to change the fuel regulator on a 1995 thunderbird sc? What needs to be removed?

An adjustable regulator in our cars are not a must. The existing regulator is more than enough to supply 60 lb injectors when its working propably.

If you have to try to squeeze a little more out of the existing injectors you have, then an adjustable is the way to go, but honestly, the cost of bigger injectors is not that huge ;). Replacing the regulator is not a 5 minute job.

You will want to remove the supercharger and then the fuel rail to give you easy access to the regulator. It not that hard and should take you less then 20 minutes to take it apart and 20 minutes to put it back together.

Make sure you have a set of torx bits so that you can remove the bolts that hold the fuel rail to the intake manifold and dont forget about the bolt on the back of the drivers side head that holds the rail.

The cowl pieces have to be removed. To get to the regulator screws, you need to get underneath the regulator coming up. Fuel injectors are easier to replace. If your putting in an adjustable, you have to set it before you install the SC etc as you will never get to it otherwise.

Do you really need to replace the stock unit?

No you dont have to take off the return plunum BUT I would remove the upper intercooler tube with the SC (leave it attached at the collar nut and just remove the 2 bolts that hold it to the intercooler).

I don't think you have to remove the cowl pieces either.

Late model regulator bolts on from the top, so there is no need to remove the fuel rail.
