Unpolish Aluminum

Whats the best way to unpolish a polished aluminum piece to give it that unfinished stock look?

You can media blast the part to get close to the texture of raw cast aluminum, or you can use sandpaper to give it a brushed finish.

Paint over it. That way you can use a paint stripper to strip the paint if you ever want to return to a polished look.

I agree with blasting. Glass bead media is recommended for aluminum.
