We have been talking with Eric Saltrick at Steele Rubber Products and they have release a new line of replacement rubber parts for our cars.

Here is an email I received from Eric:

Mr. Davenport,

We had spoken previously about the new line of Thunderbird and Cougar parts that Steele Rubber Products is introducing. These parts do fit both SC and XR7 models. It has taken some time to pull just these few parts together because we have been fitting and testing them on various models to ensure they fit.

I have attached a PDF version of our new mini catalog of these parts. I would be very happy to provide you with print catalogs or any other information regarding these items.

If there is any opportunity to support your clubs website, newsletter, events, or anything else, please let me know.

Here is a link to the "pdf" catalog he sent to me. We are talking with him about offering discounts to our members. I'll post this in the public section later, but this is another member benefit.

Steele Thunderbird/Cougar Parts

Steele Rubber Products

Thanks to everyone that has been in contact with us regarding our new line of Thunderbird parts for 1980-1997 models. As some of you have noticed, this is an ongoing process for us. We think very highly of these cars, and have committed a lot of resources to making the parts correctly.

We only make parts when we have originals to work from, and in best case scenarios we have a vehicle on site to test the fit and performance. In addition, we research original parts books to confirm the usage of parts across years and models.

If we don't have a part for your Thunderbird, it may be because we either didn't have a good original (yet) to use as a basis or we were unsure of the body style for a particular year or model. We've worked with several SCCOA members to find originals, pictures of parts on the car, or locate a vehicle, and we will continue to make more parts for these Thunderbirds.

If you have any insights about rubber parts and weatherstripping for your Thunderbird, we'd love to hear from you. You can contact me (esaltrick@steelerubber.com) or our product development specialist (Trent Poole, tpoole@steelerubber.com).

If you would like a copy of the current catalog of parts for Thunderbirds and Cougars, you can contact me directly to request a hard copy version to be mailed to you or a PDF version to be sent via email.

Also, if you would like a copy of our entire catalog of rubber parts for American vehicles (1910-1999), you can also request a free copy of our 576 page catalog to be mailed to you.

For a hard copy of either/both catalogs please be sure to send me your street address

Thanks for your support.

Thats great news, I am currently restoring a 89 XR-7....only one problem that PDF does not show anything for a 89 cougar....I know most of the SC parts will work for the cougar, but I am in desperate need on the rear window seal molding. The product looks good tho!
