autolite plugs 764 gapped at 0.52, removed top ic tube to change drivers side plugs, now when i push the gas a little hard , and vac guage is in 5-15 psi i get backfire,like it wants to die. help some one

.....make sure that you got all the wires going to the right cylinders,that the plug boots are secure on the plugs and that the IC tube is secure and not leaking air at the IC connection......when I had this problem I found that one plug had cracked porcelin at the tip.....saw it sparking in the dark....good luck

mine was doing the same thing, cylinders 4 and 5 were crossed, put them back, ran like a top. Check firing order.
