Sherman (my dad) and I entered true street, which for those that don't know, is judged by the lowest average of 3 back to back runs in 1 second brackets after you make a 30 mile road trip to see if the cars are truely street cars. IE lowest average in 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 sec brackets. You want to average 12.00 seconds for the 12 sec bracket and so on.

So we did our time runs and tried to dial the cars in for 12sec (dad) and 13sec (me) brackets. So my dad finished with an average of 12.030 for each run and he was sure he had won until we looked at the final sheet and someone else beat him out with a 12.019 average. So dad also made the quick 8 with his 12.030 average. He was number 7 and got knocked out in the 1st round of that by and 11.0 car.

I finished alittle to fast for the 13 sec bracket with a 12.939. I almost completely gave up on it and ran a 12.43 to show the crowd what the car could do, cause I thought the 13 sec bracket was gonna get bumped cause a guy ran an 8 something but then must have broke or quit and didn't show up for his other 2 runs. So I tried to get my average back up to the 13.0 and went .2 to fast. I ended up being the 22nd quickest average of about 65 cars in true street.

Then they had true street brackets on sunday. Dad red lit in the 2nd round and I ended up losing in the semi's with a 12.491 on a 12.50 dial. I thought I had the by into the final with a .009 reaction the previous round but they had us in a ladder for some reason so I didn't get the by.

All in all a good weekend. The car got slower each day cause the air got crappier. But it ran better than it used to in 90* humid air. Used to run 12.8's now runnin 12.4's-5's.

Oh yeah I really enjoyed the semifinal. I was up against a procharged 3v stang dialling a 12.38. That poor stang didn't have any legs on the top end. He was pulling alittle on me up to about the 8th mile then the 3.8 m90 started pullin alittle on him then I jammed on the brakes and came up .009 to fast.

I'll try and get some video's up tomorrow.

No, Sherman's car is a Mercury Marauder with a m112 blower on it and Chris's is a 95 sc auto

Mr. Vining is a real gentleman. I particularly like the looks he gets when they see this "old guy" and his 11 second car street car!!

Thanks for sharing those videos, those are some great runs's. Your car and your fathers must have got a lot of attention with the sound of the blowers.
Are you running the nitrous as well on those runs? Either way your car runs and looks great.

Thanks
Drew

No NOS that day. Yeah we prolly had the loudest blowers that weekend. A guy from MM&FF took my dad's info when we were in the lanes to make another run. So maybe he'll get some mag coverage. The guy asked why build a Marauder and Dad told him cause it ain't a mustang.:D

Mike Siska had quit a few people checking his car out.
Here's one of his runs

That first video of you and your dad racing sounded amazing with both blowers whining down the track!!! Cool Stuff!!
