Crank position sensor styles ?

I need to replace the crank position sensor on my "93"
The type that is on the car has the vanes that swing in the sensor gap.
The Autozone replacement part shows a sensor that looks like a big version for an ABS sensor, with a connector on the end.
The Autozone "zoner" got me a part for an older SC that was the correct sensor style, but the polarizing ribs on the connector at the other end did not fit my mating connector.

Any insights and/or advice--I hate to have to do a splice job on a new part

Well, I would check the wiring diagram for both years if you can. Or if not, at least compare colors. Next, see if you can carefully remove the pins and swap connectors, making sure that the wires go where they need to. If the connector up top is sealed, then maybe this won't work. Third, if you don't want to splice too much, then consider cutting the mating ridges off the connector on the crank sensor. Although, I forget if the harness side or the sensor side has the bumps. I wouldn't want to cut my harness.
