If I can get my balancer swapped on, I should get a retune as well.
We should be able to use my shop as a base of operations for him again, if that works for everyone.
cheers

Jim, I've added you to the list.
Stang, there is no date set, that will be determined by Dave when/if there is enough interest to make it wothwhile for him to make the trip. As for prices, you can send dave a PM and get all that info.

Seems there is plenty of interest. If Ed can host a session like we did last year then I'd be up for it but I have a couple people in ST Louis who need attention first. And then there is the whole SC Shootout thing......
No promises yet but we'll see.
Cost (for those wondering) is $175/person (+ dyno time) if you already have a chip. I will have single and multi position chips available if you need them.

Don't see why I couldn't come out for this. I won't need a tune though, but I may go for a pull or 2 on the dyno if I get my exhaust sorted.

Sounds good to me but I guess that all depends on Dave's schedule......

Now if we could only get all of these people to come to the SHOOTOUT, that would be a special thing.
Dave, if you are coming up before the shootout, perhaps I could get you to bring the MAF sensor with you, and if not, to the Shootout?????????

If it were to take place after August 28, both of my birds need a tune.

Guys, I cannot come up before the SC Shootout, nor will I be tuning at the Shootout so I don't know how that affects anyones plans or expectations.

I was wondering how you were going to squeeze this in, knowing all the work you have for the SHOOTOUT. I noticed that precision does tunes. Are they similar to yours? I will be there with or without a tune.

Dave do you have any plans to still come up here this year? Not sure if everyone is still interested or not. Anyone still in if Dave has any available time?

if Dave is not able - i hear Fraser tunes pretty well.

Dave is a pretty busy guy, and travelling up here just to tune isn't very profitable if there are only one or two guys actually getting a tune (y'know, 12 guys show up to watch, but not many actually getting tuned :( ).
We are very lucky though to have an alternative.. Fraser! IT's nice to have someone local who can tune, and Fraser works very closely with Dave on lots of stuff.
FWIW, Fraser tuned my SC and it runs perfect! Also keep in mind I had a LOT of mods done to the motor during this last re-build, and it was no where NEAR the stock parameters anymore. Fraser dialed everything in perfectly, and I couldn't be happier.
PS. I highly recommend getting a second O2 bung welded into the exhaust downtube for tuning purposes. Also, remove the EEC from it's 'nest' prior to going.. this saves a lot of time.

There is more than 2 guys requiring a tune, at last count we had almost 6 or 7 guys that were in, not counting Ed now that his car is gone.
I'll email Dave and see if he is still interested.

I think the chances of Dave getting up here before the snow flies are likely pretty slim.
As Paul mentioned, Fraser is doing tuning, and has worked with Dave to learn a lot about these cars. He was even able to unlock some areas of the EEC programming that were previously inaccessible ... Fraser knows software!! Dave is shifting his business more toward engine building, and will likely have less time in the future for tuning, especially if travel on his part is involved.
We really should be taking advantage of a resource that is right here in our own backyard now. ;)
cheers

Depending on the direction of a certain project, I might need tuning as well, in the new year, like springtime. Whose facility would be used? Who's Fraser? Is Ed back at the dealership yet?
Anyone know where I could get a large hole in an aluminum intake manifold welded closed?

:D Mike, hope you're joking.
Who's Fraser?
Fraser Turner is our member out Hamilton way, he was/is working with Moates software to tune SC's. I believe it works fine with Moates and SCT chips.

As Steve mentioned, I can flash the Moates chips as well as the newer 4 tune SCT chips. If you have the older style 2 tune chip then all I can do is read the tune off of those. I can also work with the Tweecer hardware and the EEC Tuner boards. I would highly recommend though if you have EEC Tuner to consider moving to a chip. They where good in their day, but their getting old now and could fail on you at the wrong time.
I can tune the car on the dyno, or on the road or even at the track as TMP is only 10 minutes down the road from me. For dyno tuning, you guys would have to arrange something with a dyno shop your way as we haven't gone much beyond igloo's in this neck of the woods, even though we have upgraded a bit with a Tim Horten's in town :D.
If you've had a tune by Dave previously, Dave has told me he can send me your tune file. If it was someone else, then I can easily pull down the tune from your chip, and then you have the choice of either building from that or starting from scratch.
If you need a chip, I can supply the Moates chip, which can hold 2 tunes if wired up, or I may be able to get my hands on some SCT chips if you would rather go that route. I just need to know before hand.

hi Fraser
i am interested - and already have a chip from Dave - but i only ever had a basic tune on it and rec'd it via mail.
let me know what arrangement works best
anyone else interested in arranging dyno time together in the near future ?
