I snowed up the Supercharger, throttle body, return plenium, intercooler and top tube, waited a good long hour. Would start it every 10 min for 2 min to prevent the coolant from freezing. Pulled the ECC's fuse as to reset it where seems to make more power. Then replaced the Air charge temp sensor with one that sat just outside by the master brake cylinder out of the way of exhaust heat, so the true ACT's couldnt be read. Pulled the knock sensor to pervent it from picking up my colapsed lifters:rolleyes:. Replaced the regular moded V8 exhaust instead of by bypass valve one (planed to race my brothers misitubisi lancer,a bit more fair). Bleed the air out of my 235,60,15's to 20psi in rears, replaced my wire #14 to keep the dry ice from disappearing.
Well in the line up somehow i lost my brothers car and ended up going single, caught my wife (camera gal) off gaurd and went down the track.
This time i avoided the water, gave the tires maybe a quick 1 sec spin to clean off the dirt, lined up and tried to feather the throttle around 1,100rpm in overdrive. Left late again but applied 2/3 throttle and went WOT when i grabbed traction. Big issues!!! It made a but load of power but when it came time for the tranny to shift from 1st @5K to 2nd it went to 3rd and bogged a bit then 2/3 of the way down shot back to 2nd to cross the line:confused: In the end I made a 10.69 @ 69.23mph. Not bad for a 1st to 3rd run with wheel spin madness:cool:
So heres some picks of about 2 min after my pass, notice the ice on most of the tubes and sc, it was like window frost you find in november (ice scapper needed type). There was condesation around the sc top itself. The return right before it bolts to the return plenium was still; very cold to the touch;)
In addition to some concerns i placed my spare (show n tell) sc into the cooler of dry ice for 5 min, then gave it a few turns. Yes it was harder to turn like a good powersteering pump on our birds. so yes its important to keep the cold away from that sc oil:o

Good job. When you get into the 9's you have officially hit stock 1999 F150 territory. Happy hunting when that happens eh?

You may run into problems of cracking the cast aluminum by drastically changing the substrate temperatures that quickly. The thermal shock of going from +200 degrees to - whatever dry ice is instantly is a huge concern that I thing you should avoid.

Yeh, I have seen the dry ice used but it was by attaching a tray to the side of the intercooler and putting the dry ice in there.... Seemed to help out but there was no real data as far as logging the temps of the air going into the intake.......

Cooler intakes temps will only take you so far. If your going to continue doing this, suggest you limit the dry ice treatment to the intercooler and leave the sensors alone.

A stock sc w/o ice can beat 10.6's..i think your overdoing it a bit.

I think the car did fine for using only 1st and 3rd gears. So what may be the cause of this? What is a good to best time for the stock 94 auto SC?
Since money s tight and I have access to 4 junk sc cars this is my meathod of getting more out of it.

Somthing is totaly wrong here my car is slower than crap and runs 10.01's and it doesent even have enough power to spin the tires off the line! your tranny is screwed get a new tranny
Since money s tight
So you're poaching dry ice off the mini mart again?

Clearly something is wrong with the transmission..it's shifted electronicly, but some of the functions are based on fluid pressures, rpms, spring tension ect.. Might want to post something in the tech section explaining your symptoms and see if others have had similar issues. TCCoA.com also has a transmission section in their forums with a lot of useful info on that same transmission.
Around 9.7 @ 72 mph would be average for a 94/95 auto SC

First, I have have a hard time understanding why you are even doing this. If money is tight, why are you spending time and money on this? Save the money you are spending doing this and use the time to pick up a job to make more money. Then you could actually get some upgrades that will make your SC faster ALL the time.
Second, most of the time I get right around 9.8 seconds at the 1/8th in my stock 95SC. My best times were back to back (30 minutes in between) and they were:
9.61s at 74.25mph
9.57s at 73.64mph

Ok, so dry ice where I WORK is only 9cents a pound, so theres always plenty of it on hand. I work as a butcher which pays twice what NY state min wage:rolleyes: as well as support 2 children, and 3 cars on the road. I try to do what I can in my spare time here and there, as there are other projects too; 7 snowmobiles,a old motorcycle, that old 78 chevy monza, a bathroom remodel and college all mixed up together:eek:
I'm open to most anyone taking my car for a few passes down the track at the 2008 shootout with a frozen IC, see if its driver error or car. I just cant seem to keep traction, even with a like new 89 posi in it. Maybe a good sec or 1.25 spent spinning while slowly moving even at 2/3 throttle. I did install a new low stall T/C, running dex/merc 3, tranny cooler in rad followed by a large 8 row cooler. IF the tranny is toast or about to be which birds/cars can i swap one from? Junkyard has a few mustangs, mark 8's, 90-97 tbirds/cougars and ford trucks....

(Edit - If you had an early model...)
You can use a transmission from 89-93 Thunderbirds, Fox Mustangs, Crown Vics and Grand Marquis, most things with an AOD. Just watch out because there is a short-tailshaft version and a long-tailshaft version. Mark 7s and F-150s and the police package Crown Victorias have the long one. You need the short one. Also, the Thunderbird shift lever (at the transmission) is different from the Mustang or Crown Vic one, so you need to swap the shift lever. Try to get a transmission from a V8.

He doesn't have an AOD...he's got the 4rw what ya ma call it electronic transmission.

Sorry. I thought this was the older car. I don't know about the 5x21W or whatever it is. :p
Actually, the electronic control might explain why it skipped a gear. I was wondering why an AOD would do that.

That takes about 3-5 min for a 12 pack of cans in a cooler from 85 degrees to splinters of ice inside. Use it daily for frozen yogurt on break

I finally found this post again over at TCCOA again. Many of the photos no longer show up, but it gives you some info on using the Mustang tranny. http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=54390
I ended up putting an '01 in mine.

I,m typeing from my phone to post this. My wife wanted to take a pass in the sc, so why not:p. We took our kids in thier special car to cruise night. That little car drew more attention than the sc ever had! :eek:Well I didnt bring any C02 so it was her first pass from a hot engine. Babied it and got a 12.2 @ 69mph. About 15 min after that a 99 mustang 4.6 gt wanted to race me. Why not.
So from a even hotter engine with fans on and heater cranked I gave shot. Did my best to feather it off the line, no spin but ended up doggin it:mad:
The stang beat me to the line but i had the faster speed and time;) So now the hunt is out for those check engine codes and why its still not breaking into the 9's

I dont know what is happening, but your times are slow even for a stock one. You did say that you have a check engine light on that has to be what is causing the lack of power. A kid I rode with at the track in his 305 stock firebird ran in the low 10s in the 1/8 and that car was a real pooch. Sounds like it is pulling timing like crazy.

Like I alluded to....my 1999 extended cab F150 ran high 9's. And it had some crazy features like....heavy. And stock. And 260HP V8. And full size spare.

I don't know, but I wouldnt care what my car could run at the track if I had to put 40lbs of dry ice on it and tinker with it for a half hour pulling plugs and changing sensors for it to do it. whats the point, so you can say HEY I RAN A 16, BUT it took me alot of prep. and hows yeh car having these crazzzzzzzzzzzy traction problems with a slower then stock car.. are you putting ice on your tires too ?

No crap man my car will BARELY brake the tires loose in is a total dog off the line! BUT it runs 10.01's and it probably would knock down a 9-somthing now because it runs alot better than it did when it pulled a 10.01 If your car is running like that you need to stop taking it to the track and fix it you are making our cars look slow! when i realized i could only run a 10.01 i went home before i made supercoupes look bad :) Have not been back since and dont plan on it untill it will actually have some balls.

I,m getting error codes that dont even relate to our cars, such as a 311, 217 <that does> and a 600 something thats not even listed. Maybe I,m just trying to break something so i can go ahead and swap vin plates with a working fast kooks headers 94 5spd that has no title......

So whats the point of giving him ~~~~ about his time then!,
Do you have nothing better to do than sit here and say "oh it sucks, the time is slow" wah wah wah.. He is trying new things he isnt doing the norm of people and going to SCP or anything he is trying to figure out other things, thats how stuff gets developed. Weather it be Co2 or fire. He is still doing beter than most of you all by going out and trying things. Taking chances of ruining something.... And yet he comes back here to tell you all about it just to get bashed every time??;)
Jeez SCCoA is getting just as bad as any other forum on the internet.

Ok so i had the blinks off by one digit believe, well here they are:
176:Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean Left or Front HO2S - Fuel control
332:EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE
543:(O)Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits (M) Fuel pump relay or battery power feed was open - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
So maybe if I address these i can get some power back
As far as making the SC look bad.. I think more people see this single car (with intrest) than it would if it were in the scrap yard from which it was saved!

I am not trying to break balls, I just think the CEL has something to do with his times. I have a CO2 sprayer on my car, I feel it made a difference with the stock IC i havent ever sprayed it on the front mount yet.

Its not that everyone is bashing him.. They are all telling him his ET's are off which means there is something mechanically wrong with the car. Basically it means stop going to the track and figure out what is wrong with the car before it goes poof and the next post in this thread will be "Well I blew it up this time..."
