Well my brother and I finally got around to taking the engine out today. Man what a PITA that was lol. We got her out and were going to start ripping it down for a rebuild. Heres what we ended up with after we pulled it.

Heres the idea we came up with for a front mount IC. Its 1 SC IC and 2 Dodge IC's. I'm going to have them all welded together and have new end tanks made up so the inlet is at the top and outlet is on the bottom. When finished both the inlet & outlet will be on the leftside

I also picked up this rad from my brother. Its a 3 core Griffen rad, but I have to have the end tanks moved to the other side to make it work with the SC engine.

Thats about all we got done, but I will update as I go :D

that IC situation you got there seems pretty extremly overly complicated for nothing. Spend $100 and get a ebay FMIC. moving end tanks on rads too eh ?

Well the way I look at it is, all the IC's were free so if I spend the $100 on having end tanks made up I will end up with a far better IC than any ebay special. Also the rad didnt cost that much so again putting a little money into it to end up with a great rad is ok with me

Looking forward to more progress and updates!! I had an 85 Capri 5.0L years ago, always liked the look of the nose and fenders on those cars. An SC engine in a Fox car should scoot pretty nicely.
cheers

why do you say that? alot of guys here built FMIC with the ebay specials. Cmac's was built with a ebay special and worked great. I want to sell my MP FMIC to build an ebay special setup so I can have my engine bay back. I dont have AC so whats the point of having MP kit when i can stuff it out front.

Hey I didnt mean no disrespect, I'm sure those ebay IC's work great, but what I was saying is, I got mine for free so I wouldn't have to spend the money on a new one. I looked around on ebay for IC's but decided I would just weld the 2 Dodge ones together for around the same price.

I know its been a few weeks, but we finally got around to ripping the engine down to get ready for the machine shop. It will receive a hot tank, new rings, bearings, cam bearings, new frost plugs, and a fresh cylinder hone. I also picked up a set of main studs, and a set of head studs. I'm also looking into a main girdle to keep it all together. So far thats where we are at. Heres a few pics of the progress :D
