You will need to know your VIN. Production sequence number (http://www.35thatr.org/VINCodes/tb_vin.htm)... = the last 6-digits of your VIN (100,001 - 600,000 Ford division vehicles / LM is different)

i dont think thats really possible, they mixed the sc vins with the lx's besides the engine code, and also a vin ending in 0134 could have been made before vin 0298 and vice versa!! They arent really in order and dont think there is a way to tell for sure if you have sc 28 of 522 (95 5spd example)

Your car is 1 of 1,925 Automatic SC's built in 1994, same as mine. :D

I think it could be possible to piece together a numbered production sequence, going by the VIN and MFG date of the vehicle - if you can obtain that information about those same 1,925 SC's ..

The VIN is issued after the vehicles have been ordered to be built by the assembly plant. So like Franky mentioned .. the cars with sequential VIN numbers could roll down the assembly line right next to eachother, but if one is pulled offline for repairs, etc ... it may not actually roll out of the doors of the assembly plant, after final inspection is complete. But .. those sequential numbered cars might only be 1-3 days apart by the time they are finished being built and that doesnt really matter anyways.

My 94 Auto SC, one of 1,925 has VIN 190089, MFG Date 4/94. Just need to know the other 1,924's VIN and MFG dates and there you have an actual production number xxxx of 1,925 Autos ...

i managed to get some numbers. mine is 142754 of all thunderbirds.
prod. date is 2/94
and my car was built at the Lorain, OH plant

so i guess its just easier to say its 1 of 1,925.

but then again, theres the ones that were parted out and scrapped. or ones that were totaled in an accident. so the number could be lower than 1,925.

Your REAL Born-On date is the paint quality stamp inspection that is located on the core support near the LH hood bumper. It's a 4-digit date code stamped in yellow paint/ink (if it's still there). Mine is "0522" (May 22nd. 1989). That's the day the car's finish was inspected and approved, and you can figure the car was actually rolled out of the plant later that day, or the next, depending on the time of day the paint was inspected and stamped. The body buck tag is only a scheduled build date; the day the car was entered into the system, and assigned a VIN. My buck tag pre-dates my paint stamp by over a week.

Figure about 20-25% survival rate at this point. It diminishes drastically as the years go by.

Cheers,
JD

question then...can you find out build numbers with specific options like say there were 45 White on blue fully optioned including cd player with auto in 90 or something like that. I know we did that with the GTO's when i owned one but those were built in 04 and up so the tracking of information i'm sure was much better. just thought i'd ask.
