2nd Gen pedals feel different...?

I have a 93 with a stock-ish clutch (unsure) and my buddy has two 94 5speeds, the one 94 has a stock clutch and the pedal has half of the throw that my 93 does and the other 94 has a spec clutch and still has half of the throw the 93 does? If I were to throw in the late model flywheel/clutch assembly, would I still have the throw of the 93?

So whats the difference between the two years and why is the newer style pedal have half of the throw?

The pedals and the hydraulics are all the same So if there is a difference in feels its because of the clutch and/or replacement slave.

Hmmmmm.... I'll have to look at part number or something because if I get a replacement anything and it makes my pedal feel like the 2nd gen, I'd be pissed.
