started a project last night... finished it just earlier... decided i wanted my boost gauge installed in a VISIBLE location... without it sticking out of the dash, or being way up on the pillar... i just need a boost gauge for now... so... i figured why not put it in the vent? :)

but.. how to do it... while retaining the functionality (or some of it anyways) of the vent?

Here's some pics of the beginning of the build, and the idea:

very good job man! I read your post and then saw the pix...and I was surpriced to see that your car was a late model. Those 94+ vents are really flimsy and thin compared to the early models. But in any case, looks good man...congrats.

the vents were pretty flimsy, but it was stiffened when i added the acrylic to house it in. i've installed and removed it several times without any issues.

I have the same boost gauge, I dremeled out the dash cover next to the headlight housing and stuck it next to the cluster, and I can't see it at all with the steering wheel in the way unless it's making more than 13psi.

Good idea, and good craftsmanship too, that looks awesome.

Just like the Mustangs...

Roush makes/sells these

had no idea... way cool. it just makes sense to put it there. :)

they say no cutting/modifying.... but tell me, how do you get the vac line and power wires out of your vent ducting?
