Darkness Overcomes the Dash

Instrument cluster dash lights have gone out. Some of the other dash lights (like the digital temp lights) still work. The fuse has blown. I replaced the fust and it blew again...something is shorting.

I have not done any related work with electrical prior to this.

Before I start digging around, anyone have any good ideas? A bad dash bulb for instance ??

Thanks

hhhmm.. well i would recommend remove the screws that hold the cluster in place and pull the cluster a bit forward, then replace the fuse. If it doesn't blow it, then a wire in the back of the cluster could be causing the short. If it still blows the fuse, disconnect the two harnesses and replace the fuse. If if doesn't burn it, then you might have a bad bulb, if it still burns it.. then maybe someone else has an idea...
