hello, havnt been on here for a LONG time(two years) but i have a question.

will a 1990 thunderbird lx transmission fit in a 1991 SC? i know they are the same sized motors, but with the extra power the sc is pumping out i didnt know if they put something els in it or not.

also, im looking to buy an sc, if anyone knows of one in the kansas area for sale, let me know.

The SC specific trans had a wider OD band and a slightly different configured torque converter as I recall. The bell housing of an SC AOD should have a "A" cast into it. The LX trans will bolt up, but likely not last too long. If you needed something to get you by for a while, it will work.

Where at in Kansas are you? I have a friend how is selling a very nice 1989 Cougar XR7 here in Lincoln, NE.

alright cool. thanks for the info. im in tribune kansas, but i have family in lincoln that could probably drive it down for me. got any pictures of it?
