ECT Sender..

Was wondering what the Values are for the sender.. AT like 50F what Voltage, at `running' temp Watch Voltage, ect.. I searched on here, but maybe it's not under ECT Sender ??

Since on my '89 XR7.. even on a cool day (Say @ 50F) at start up the low speed fan comes on.. I'm getting around a 2.2V reading off it at that point and when it hits around 2Vs the cooling fan shuts off..

Also another thing it has always done thou is when you start it when cold, it goes up to 1200rpm once it catches drops to @ 1,000rpms for like 5 seconds, then continues to drop to like 800rpms..

My '91 SC, revs up to like 1700-1800rpms slowly comes down to like 1200RPMS stays there for like 10 or so seconds, then down to 1000 Rpm holds there for alittle while, then finally @800rpms

Thanks

Knew i seen it some place.. thank you..

But okay.. Since the low speed fan turns on @ 220F which is supposedly @ .43Volts.. So why does it turn on around the 2.4-2.2 range then shuts off at around 2V mark.. and with the chart above would be showing it as right for temps (stock T-stat of 192/196?) and when it opened fully it was around .6? Volts so..

Also AC does not work, Nor was the HVAC system even ON for that matter :)

and the other problems with the idle sound like a acting up IAC

the 89 or 91?? :p

the 91 will idle with it unplugged the '89 doesn't, but the '91 was adjusted by instructions i seen on this site.. But honestly, that didn't change how it acts on a cold start up..

I'm not sure at all on the '91 but i'm pretty sure on the 89 it's the original IAC.. (Alot of stuff is original on that car, cept for the engine which i had to change out)

Have you run the codes?

And just by way of a reminder, I could imagine your problems all being due to poor connections/grounds/ground paths...

Codes, nope.. But i could do that this coming weekend (my car collection is like 45 minutes away)

Bad connection/grounds.. possible.. even thou i cleaned almost everything as i was hooking up the replacement motor.. this car is the only one i haven't upgraded any of the `Big Three' yet on.. (only added relays to the headlights, and that was cause i added the '91-93 front end onto it)

Well did the whole Code thing finally.. other then a Code 14: Ignition Profile Pickup Failure.. got nothing...

where i am i wish had a Printer.. Else i would print up the chart in the above post to see how the ECT is working..
