Replacing rotting rocker panels?

Hey guys,

Been a long time since I've been back to this board. Good to see you all. Well, I have my 90 XR7, and i have noticed that the rocker panels on both sides have started to rot away a bit. I wanted to know how any of you have handled this in the past, as I know this is a common problem for these. I was thinking of having a good body shop cut them out and weld new ones in...has anyone had that done? What other ideas do you all have? Thank you for your help, I look forward to hearing from you. definately!! I completely redone mine on my 90'. having them welded in properly makes the refinishing and any other work underneath, such as brake line clips, ect., so much easier and cleaner. however, i made and installed my own because of my trade. i couldn't guess what an auto body shop would charge for that today. 2000.00, 2500.00$. don't know. but, what i do know, is that a unibody design does need your suppport.
