I found these and bought one today. Just passing along the info. These will probably go pretty quick at this price.

What would be really nice is if someone found moonroof seals IN STOCK! :D 2 known suppliers, Webasto and Sunroof Doctor, have them on back order. Webasto stated that they had been on back order since April.

If they've been backordered that long, to me, that means the maker isn't planning on making any more. The original seal is a single piece. It is not a cut-to-length rubber strip, like the cheaper replacements. Or so, thats what the Webasto customer service rep told me. At this point though, I'd settle for a cheap unfelted replacement. :(

Anybody able to confirm that the same motor is used on all years?

Hi Todd

That's kind of a strange listing, it may be incorrect in the catalogue. 89-93 was E9SZ 15790 A, which is replaced by the F4SZ 15790 A. F4SZ A should mean 94 Bird, but that number is only shown as original on the 94-up Cougar listing. 94 - 96 Bird shows F4LY 15790 A, same as Mark VIII.

I've never sold or compared any of the roof motors to know if that is a correct listing or not, sorry.

Dave,

I'll let you know when I get mine if its the same, fits and works the roof.

The difference between years is that after 1993 the wiring and controller were upgraded to include a 2/3 open 'stop' in response to customer complaints about wind noise - hit the switch again and the glass will retract completely...same process when closing. I put a 1996 motor assembly in my 1990 35th and it works fine. Next step is one-touch modules...

The upgraded assemblies (F4SZ-15790-A ~ TSB Articles 93-20-1~93-23-1 (http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showpost.php?p=552397&postcount=10)) can be used in early model cars with no modification. To my knowledge, the Ford P/N isn't found on the actual assemblies. The early units have 3 wires at the small blue switch, next to the trigger wheel, where the upgraded units only have 2 wires & an orange controller/relay.

I have one good used non-upgraded moonroof motor assembly/unit (manuf. in 1993) I will sell for $22.50 shipped. If it doesn't sell, I'll simply return it, so this offer will expire in one week, on 12.20.2008.

The Ford parts manual I have says "from 12-1-93" for the motor.
