Yes. Doug first offered these in 2004 for around $700-$800 each. Since then, I believe he has made one or two more batches with the price tag around $1,000 each. Higher cost because of the cost of aluminum. He'll make more if anyone is ready to step up to the plate.

Specs:
Machined from 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum
Extra Bearing Cap Support
Integrated Drain Plug
Integrated Rear Diff Mount
Nylatron and Steel Mounting Bushing Included
Guaranteed to Handle up to 1500hp

They're definetely nice and probably ALOT stronger than stock, but at that price...WHEWWWW! How many horses would you need to be making for it to be worth the investment?

I really thought that was a typo.

He initially made a batch of 10 units and then made 1 or 2 more batches of them. So, people have stepped up to the plate to purchase them. I'm sure a lot of those were purchased for the cool factor.

Not to rain on anybodies parade, but Bill at SCP and I are both selling diff covers with girdle supports for alot less money.

While I agree that it is a very cool part...However, We were having a hardtime getting the group buy going on the 200.00 rear differential covers. What are the odds on it happening on Covers that are 6 times more expensive?? If anyone cares to buy me one as a late Christmas gift, or a Friendship payment. I will take mine in Black...just like my women. Just pm me for my shipping address...

I guess that was my thoughts as well. I saw that price and went into shock...

I created the post just to show everyone that there was another option out there for covers (heck, the first run of these was way back in 2004). Once a price was established, I posted the price for all to see, that's all.

Doug has sold every one that he has produced, albeit, to the Mustang guys but if someone really did want one I'm sure the Mustang guys would pick up the slack. Do I actually see this happening? No. But it could be possible if someone on this site really wanted one and got the Mustang guys involved. Actually, if that was the case I would put my money on this group buy going through than the other group buys for the other covers.

Hey, it's all good anyway and it's good information to know what is out there.

Alan,

I totally understand where you are coming from and you are just wanting to help those looking for a cover, so it's all good. No harm. You and I are cool.

Just remember that your post would not be allowed in a group buy thread that someone is trying to start. I'm not going to complain but someone else with a different group buy would probably complain and the moderators would remove the post. I think you can see what I'm talking about.

I may be missing something but exactly how does this bolt up?

The reason I made the post was that it appeared to me that you were just trying to show people options that until very recently did not exist. The cover I am sure is a nice piece and if you really need it and they are the only ones that make it....
I figured it might help to mention that their are now affordable options as well. If I had seen this a a group buy that was going to work I would have just left my 2cents out. I just thought it might help to know there are less expensive options for those who hadn't already seen the posts. I meant no harm or disrespect.
Happy New Year.

So what you are saying is that the solution here would be not to offer items for sale in other people's threads or to post details about similar items that would compete with someone's for sale item in the same thread? Sounds like a good rule to me.

so they intergrated the mount into it?..Is that why it looks like that>?

That's correct. A moderator will remove the post if the Original Poster complains or if a moderator sees the post. That's only fair to the Original Poster because you never know when a group buy will take off.

Yes, I knew your intentions and I knew you didn't mean any disrespect. I tried to point that out in my reply. I just wanted you to be aware of what might happen if your post was posted in another thread. You were just trying to help but the original poster has every right to see his group buy through without interference from other posters. It's all good, have a happy new year.
