Multifunction switch issue????!?!?!

I have been having this issue for awhile where my wipers work then dont..And if I mess with the multi function switch I can get them on...

My question is this. I have read peopel having issues with this...However has anyone had this problem along with a voltage drain causing a dead battery over time?

The multi function switch also had the same issues the headlight switches in SC's were notoriously familiar for.. I know when I pulled mine out the harness behind it disintegrated in my hand I had to splice in a new one..
