Converting from Auto to 5Speed

I have a '90 SC that I am converting from Automatic to 5 Speed.
I have pulled a bunch of parts off a '90 SC 5 speed in the junkyard.
I am hoping that someone has done this before and can tell me if my parts list is complete. Here is what I have pulled so far:
Transmission w/shifter and slave cylinder.
Clutch,flywheel and backing plate.
Clutch pedal assembly with master cylinder.
Narrower brake pedal.
ECM.

Do I need anything else?
Driveshaft maybe?

  • # 1 - Fluid Reservoir
  • # 1 - Quart brake fluid
  • # 3.5 - quarts of Mercron V ATF fluid
  • # 1989-1992 cars should get the brake pedal from the 5-speed donor car
  • # You might need to get a 5-speed starter as well
  • # 1994-1995 cars will need to get their computer reburned for 5-speed. These years the computer controlled the Automatic.

What ratio differential gears you plan to use? You might need to change speedo drive gearing to maintain accuracy...

Wow KMT, I could not have hoped for a better answer.
The surprises to me are:
1] I DO NOT need a new ECM
2] I DO need a new driveshaft.
Thanks

You don't NEED the 5 spd EEC but you may run into slight drivability issues, such as stalling and the idle hanging a little longer than it should, Oh, and lets not forget the nasty little speed limiter the auto's have.

Otherwise it will work ok. I got tired of mine stalling out pulling in to parking spaces so I have a manual EEC on the way for it.

Also, you may have to play with the driveshaft to get it indexed on the pinion flange in order to keep it from vibrating.
