Engine Rebuilding

Just so everyone knows, I tried to get my SC engine rebuilt for cheep. It cost me 750.00 for new bearings, rings, heads done, and they lightly honed the cylinder walls. I have an engine noise at idle, take it out, pay another 275.00, still have noise. I am into this engine for over 1000.00 and have JUNK.

Point being: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. BUY THE GOOD STUFF AND HAVE SOME ONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING WORK ON IT.

Thank you, just had to vent for a second.

Thats part of the reason why 99% of the work on my car is done by me :D.... the only problem there is I don't always know what I'm doing either :D.

When Dave Dalke started ripping into my car I damn near crapped my pants ..... but in the end he sorta knew what he was doing cause the car actually started and got me home :p.

have not found the source of the noise yet. I am going to tear into it this weekedn with a buddy and spec out all the journal sizes and bore sizes. Maybee something will turn up then.
