So it may not be as comfy as the old Red Streak, but it sure is running nice! I still am driving this thing to work a couple days per week as weather permits...no roof, heat or wipers would be a problem anywhere else....Here in the IE...who needs 'em! Funny thing is that in the eighth it will trap about 8mph quicker than the Streak's best 1/4 and its 1/4 ET would be about .5 seconds slower than the Streaks average eighth. That makes 'em even, right :p

Holy crap! I have got to get around to building one of those one day. What do you have for a drivetrain in that thing?

Thanks for the feedback guys! It really is a fun and easy to drive car. The motor is a home built, carbed 347 which has managed to put just over 400 hp and 385 ft-lbs to the rollers. It can be lugged around town and will accelerate from 1100 rpm but it is really happy over 3000 rpm. I shift right around 6k but there is more to be found if I run it higher. Trans is a T5 with a 070 cluster and main (like in the T5Z) with a .625 od and the rear end is a solid 8.8 with 3.55s. The rear suspension is really the only trick piece in the entire car and is a three link with a Watts set up rather than a panhard bar. Mikey, don't wait forever to enjoy one of these things. Start saving NOW and contact Factory 5 when your ready. They were great to deal with and put out an outstanding chassis. Jose, you show up anytime and we'll go around the block a few times.
Thanks again guys,

I have to finish up some of my current projects first. Next step is get the 2 cougars up and running, then I've got a 1980 Firebird Formula that I am re-doing with a TPI setup. Once that car is all done, I will probably drive it for a year or 2, then sell it and buy the factory five kit. I'll definitely be going for IRS with mine though, as well as fuel injection.
