Wife gets run off the road by a semi. Don't worry the truck behind her caught him. She is okay, just some whiplash and roughed up. Car didn't fare so well. Very proud of her though, she corrected a 75mph 45* skid in a fwd car. Carnage is below.

Frame rail and core support are chewed up at the front... think it's totalled? I kinda hope it is, this car has been through hell and back already... bondo only goes so far.

On a side note, when I got the call I went from work, 61.6 miles, in 36 minutes. You do the math. Bird still has some guts in her!

First, glad your wife is OK.

Second, glad someone caught the trucker.

Yeah he tried to play dumb and act like it wasn't his fault. The witness then called him out and told the HiPo about exactly all he did. HiPo then sparked some words at him, issued some "citations", and he was crying apologizing to her before he was out of the cruiser.

So...what did she hit? I ask because there is a stripe down the side of the car, but the mirror appears untouched. Glad you are okay...as well as Jesse.

She hit the crossover fence on I-29. Don't worry about me, I was on 435... thats slow lane driving.

True story! I topped out the SR on a peaceful drive home one night.

True story! I topped out the SR on a peaceful drive home one night.

And the HiPo pulled him over for too slow in the left lane! :p

435 is kinda like gladiator. Kill or be killed.

Glad your wife is ok. You can always replace a car

I can not tell what year the car is to guess on the value. But i would say yes the car is probley totaled out you are going to have to R&R the front bumper assy R&R front headlight R&R Front fender R&I and repair the front door(If you can find a shop that will actually repair and not just replace) Plus repair the QP. Then you have to refinsh all ds of the car. Plus blend into the hood, The trunk and rear bumper cover. On top of all that if the frame rail took damage like you said it will need time on the frame machine which here in Wichita is like $97 a hour and just your normal body work here is like $77 a hours and then materials and parts so just my guess is its probley totaled

Glad the wife is OK. You guys have had a hell of a time since you got that car. Was she on her way to school?

Nope, she was on the way home after class. Happened about 10 mins south of St, Joe. That car has been a time and a half. I think it is the GM curse! She's been sideswiped twice, had this accident, and chewed up a transmission in less than 2 years. It has a lot of other little things wrong with it too. She's looking at Edge's now, so maybe she'll turn the corner to the blue oval.

All he got was a few citations??

Glad you're wife is ok, and everything turned out all right... I think the edge is a good choice.. Or if she likes the 4-door sedan, a Fusion.

I was dating a girl one time... She drove a BMW Z3 (fun cars!). A semi cut her off, and she got pissed... passed him, then cut HIM off... I've never been so scared in a car in my life... (and I've been in rollovers!). I got pissed and asked her what in the hell she thought she was doing.. she replied that he had done it to her!! fair is fair! LOL I tried to explain to her that when you're driving a roller skate, and he's in an 10-wheeler... fair was a meaningless word.

Update: Prix wasn't totalled. I am having them use all new parts on any damaged panel, and then going after the driver for depreciated value of the car, which is about 15%.

Ins and dealership are fighting on the price of repairs... so we'll see how that turns out.

When I was coming home one day after my wife was driving in front of me....in her Sentra (I know but she had it before we got toether). In the span of a mile on IS-35, she changed speeds like five times. I don't mean like 55-60-65, I mean 50-70-50-60. I think you get the picture. Aside from that, she cut off a semi. I could only watch as I was behind her in the white car and sucked half of the seat cushion up when I saw it. When we got home, I yelled at her for it and told her she was not using her head. She had no idea. She said something along the lines of 'Well...he was in my way'. I explained that her driving sucked. But I got her attention when I told her that if she wanted to kill herself, that was cool, but don't take my baby girl with her.

She has come leaps and bounds since then (it only took 4 years). I remember when we were dating, I was in Cape with her and we rolled up to a stop sign. There was a car coming and I said "Wait...wait...wait...WAIT...WAIT...WAIT...WAIT...S TOP. She rolled into the intersection across the southbound traffic, and STOPPED in the northbound lanes. I yelled GO and she just looked at me. Meanwhile this car was smoking and the fronts trying to get stopped. I reach over and push her right leg and it hits the gas...

Just had to share that with you...

Grand prix is back, and I must say they did a good job. It has more bondo than I like, but it looks incredible. Plus 2 new tires on the front, and drives better than it ever had. She's set, so the Bird can be refocused on.

Wife is still having back problems, and still going to the chiro a few times a week. I hope she will be fixed all the way soon. Being a nurse and on her feet for 12+ hours a day doesn't do well for it though.

Sorry about the lady! I hope she heals well and soon.

Glad to hear the car is right.

Just think, if she were in a Miata, she would have walked away without a scratch and then the car could have been driven to the track right after that and raced and won and then driven home and then to church on Sunday.
