So I get my car off the ramps and start it up. I am adding transmission fluid to get it filled. Car is smoking real bad. I stop and jack up the front of the car and theres a puddle of tranny fluid on the floor. It came off the tranny and leaked on to the passenger side down tube, smoking like hell. Looks like the pan might be leaking. I start it up and slide under the car again and out of a port on the passenger side of the tranny a small stream or fluid is flowing out and on to the hot exhaust. I have a 89 tranny and engine out of a thunderbird so I go over to it and theres a plug in that port. Pulled the plug out and installed in my tranny, no leaky. So whats this port for?
