Although I've never had a problem on my SC with the stock rear sway bar mounts using a 1 3/8" Addco bar, I thought I'd try something different on my LSC with a 1 1/4" Addco bar. Obviously, everything would also translate to a SC and I'll be performing this same mod to my SC.

I'm using Energy Suspension greaseable mounts with some 1/8" thick x 1 1/2" wide stainless bar stock for reinforcement to deal with the gap in the sub-frame for the stock bracket. The corners of the brackets and the reinforcements are cut to clear the sub-frame to body mount. The smaller pieces are essentially washers to use with the rear bolt. I used 10mm x 35mm stainless socket bolts to mount the bracket, with a nylock nut for the rear bolt.

p/n 9.5165G for the 1 1/4" mounts, 9.5168G for the 1 3/8".

Those ES greaseable bushings are great eh?!
I've used them as well on my Mark VIII for the Addco bars I installed :)
The stainless plate and bolts are a nice touch ;)

Now installed on my SC as well.

I'm surprised that there wasn't more interest in this, as I've seen many people complain about the stock brackets over the years.

I don't know if this is is common, but here's my experience. I bought a 94 mark 8 with addco bars front and back, and 2" spring conversion. Since I bought it, I had to go in and fab up some thicker brackets for the back sway bar because they broke at the notch in the frame. Also had to gusset the ears on the front brackets because the bolts would work loose, bend the ears, then the bolts would disappear. After the gusset job, everything has remained in place- until I broke the links in the back. Had to go with some good grade 8 bolts I was able to source from work. So far, so good- now I just need to rebuild the rear ca's and put in the tl diff I snagged off of here. When you get on an uneven surface, that car lifts a leg more than a dog having to take a leak.

I'm also using the greaseable Energy Suspension bushings for the front.
