im gonna be hitting up the track very soon. im in the process of making a deal with someone for a 10% od pulley. im running a 5% sc od and a 5% jackshaft od pulley right now. im pushing 14-15 psi with this setup. it pulls hard but just doesnt feel like "enough" lol.

my question is....does anyone with experience with a similar setup think 15% total od would be too much ?

check out member page for mods

thanks guys

y not try extra 5 percent with a 10 percent JS pully. or put stock sc pulley and a 10 percent crankshaft. JS would be cheaper.

You can try it but the stock plenum may be your choking point. Do you have a way to watch the AF and adjust for the extra 2-3psi?

If your intercooler is up to par, and if you have a free flowing exhaust. it should be fine.

I think you should be fine with the added OD. I have a 10% pulley on my 94 blower making 17psi and running through a stock intercooler and I still have a 70% stock exhaust and have had no issues with my car at all. I think Ryan is right in suggesting the MP inlet, cavitation could become an issue with the really restrictive stock inlet plenum, sending your blower outlet temps through the roof but it's only a possibility. I have one in my garage going on my car soon and I'll let you know if it's worth it.

The stock inlet has to be restrictive at high OD%'s. I picked up 4 psi adding an MP plenum and going from 15% to 20% OD, remember blowers are sensitive to restrictions on the inlet side. You exhaust, intercooler, and fuel system should all handle it without a problem.

the plenum is ported slightly, not enough to make a difference tho. i really do want the mp inlet, just dont wanna dish out the money lol.

i do not have a way of monitoring a/f ratio. i have a chip from dave but i doubt the little bit more air is gonna max out my injectors or the MAF.

i have a 2.5" FMIC with a fan

Got it off of craigslist for $100 from some guy who didn't know what it was. I really scored there because I've always wanted one but they're too expensive.

I think you should just go for it dude. Put on the extra OD and see what happens. If the results are negative, just take the OD back down and wait until you can add more and you're sure it will be a power gain, like if you get an MP inlet or meth injection.

No way, that thing is SO going on my car. I just have to finish porting it first.

I would ask Dave about the 15%, because it'll probably depend on what he did with the timing.

If you start kicking against the knock sensor with the 15% your going to end up with less power than running a 5% pulley on the car.
