Updated Cougar Rear Window?

The rear window trim on my '89 Cougar is in terrible shape, so I am looking into replacing it with the later style molding, but have a few questions. I know the rear window will have to be removed to install the new style trim. However, my question is can I reuse my original glass with the new style molding, or will I need to get a new piece of glass, seal, and reveal molding to make it work?

I looked into getting a new seal at an auto glass shop and they couldn't find just a seal. They listed the new glass with the seal though. I don't remember exactly how much it was but I do remember that the cost was very reasonable. If you search here, I may have the price in one of my older posts about this as it was a couple years ago.

Looking at the Ford website, they list the glass, a urethane kit, and the reveal molding. I'm thinking I might be able to get a new seal and molding, and reuse the original glass??
