Well as you may have seen in previous threads that my first attempt at the swap didnt go so great. This turned out to be my fault, im 95% sure of that, i think. I was anxious and didnt inspect/change the U joints. So boom it went playing, when I went to forth. So I called up this guy that claims he knows a bit about sc's but Im still iffy on him. I left with a rebuilt tranny ready to bolt in. I got a driveshaft a day or so later, thanks Zimmerly. And that night it was back on the road after changing U joints and fixing some boo boos on the slave cyl threads on the new tranny. I had my doubt about the shifting becuase the new one had brass instead of fiber blockers. I put some easy miles on it, then beat it one night playing with my friends gto(last time i did this it went boom lol) My doubts left, it took all my shifts as quick as i could w/o a crunch or grind. And today I put about 200highway miles on it and 5 speed cars and the highway are prefect for eachother. With equal power I have no doubt a stick will walk an aod car with ease on the highway. My aod never pulled like this. Plus the OD to 3rd gear downshift to pass with the AOD was a bit lame. This however, 5th to 3rd from 70ish, pulls like crazy. 75mph at 1800 rpm is very nice also. Overall this swap was well worth it, When shifting right, I have no doubt it beat my old setup from all speeds on the street. Thats what I wanted, for on the street to perform better. However I do think I can beat my best AOD time on the 1/4 but im sure at high powerlevels that might not be the case. Anyway, everyone should go 5spd, AOD street car sc's are lame
