I've been hanging low lately, taking care of school and what-not but I figured I'd post pics of the finished k-member. When I installed it...it went WAY too easy. When things go that easy, you know you're going to hit a roadblock somewhere. Bolting the k-member under the car, it fit like a glove. It lined up perfectly centered under the car, within 1/16" from left to right. I didn't even have to shift the motor for the mount to line up with the k-member. . All the other parts bolted up effortlessly. The only issue is that i had to take the oil filter off in order to get the sway bar in there.
Measuring the wheel base, I got 113-1/8" on both sides. Pretty happy about that and the rest will get dialed in during the alignment. All original bolts (minus the main mounting bolts) and hardware were retained, and it's truely a bolt-in set-up.
Tons of room under there for motor mounts, headers, oil changes, spark plugs and possibly a giant turbo downpipe . Final weight is 29.6 lb's, saving almost exactly 20lb's vs. the stocker. Not a huge diet, but I'm excited to just be finished without any hassels (other than 7 stitches on one week, and 4 more a week later...) and just admire my small accomplishment.
Road testing to come....
