Quick Starter relay Question

The original starter relay on my car says use only Ford service parts or there may be damage to the electronic engine controls unit. Is this true or not. I know it's probably not, but just want to make sure my little starting problem doesn't become a big expensive problem. Thanks. Also does anyone live in the central Florida area, I just moved to Ocala?
