I have 89 5 spd with about 65k,i would like to know if at this stage, it would be advantageous performance wise to add an fmic.before i do a rebuild. This is what i have now on the car, headers with full scp exhaust, mp 85tb,with 94-95 intake plenum,s-port,and 3.5 cai,73 c&L air mass, underdrive pullies 38lbs. injectors, 190 fuel pump. Also if l will need a tune with the fmic. your response would be very much helpful to me. thanx.

Why do you need to rebuild your engine ?? You should be ok with only 65k miles.

You need a cam, PP heads perferably with a bigger valves, 42 or 50 injectors. You have a big TB but a small MAF....why is that? Also you should invest in a bigger fuel pump. You will need a tune to make it all work

I email Dalke and tell him what you have and your goals and order a set of heads and a cam from him. You may think getting ported big valved heads are expensive, but it will make getting to your goals easier.

(before I owned it) He built the engine in my car with a cam and ported heads. He got 290 rwhp with a ported early style blower, 10% od, 73 MM MAF, 75 MM TB, headers and exhaust.

By the way I see you have a 85 mm TB and 3.5 CAI, but start out with a puny 73 mm MAF. I'd recommend getting a 85 MM tuner MAF from Dalke as well.

Don't forget the ARP head studs...
