Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that I can pick-up a 23 tooth speedo gear. I'm having my Dif rebuilt w/3.73's soon so I think this is what I need. The tech asked me to pick up the gear and he would drop it in for me. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Go to SC-Driveline & trans. Look at the last item. I don't know how fast they are, but they do have them listed. Also, have you checked the local Ford Stealership or tranny shop? One more avenue to explore would be good old Dan Newman of Five Star Ford in Scottsdale--- www.fivestarford.com --online parts division. He is really good! I've dealt with him quite a bit. I hope one of these is ok...

p.s. Will it be done by Sat??? Wanna race and win??? It'll be fun ;)

Thanks Anthony. I would've called a local dealership but I read somewhere that Ford doesn't have anything past 21 tooth. I'll try anyways tomorrow. It's not going to get done by Saturday. Are you running Saturday? I was just going to watch and meet all the SC Homiez. My cars been running funny...misses a little @ wot. I'm gonna talk to my mechanic about it on Friday. And I don't have a helmet, spending the money on my dif instead. Do you have a helmet? I checked out Simpson's website and them suckers are expensive. I would just pick one of those open face jobs for $200 but my noggin and dental work are worth more than that. Think they'll go for a group buy?

I may run...if anyone there is within a sec. of me I'll go for it (they'll be faster of course). I hate losing any worse than that... As far as helmets, I should be able to get my hands on an open face one and I have a full face one in the closet. Anyone have a clue about what specs. they will be looking for on these things. Is a DOT approved helmet going to cut it? As far as your miss...how many miles on those plugs and wires? If the plugs are more than 20,000 miles old it is a possibility (500 for Bosch). They should last longer but I really believe that MTBE was tough on them. Thank goodness 76 is MTBE free. Ever seen what that crap did to rubber, or the upper atmosphere, or ground water...do I have to go on? Oh well my rant here is done!

In case my ranting made things confusing
1. I may run.
2. I can get a helmet or two if we need extras.
3 Check your plugs.

Can't be the plugs and wires. Just went through a set. That's (2) sets w/less than 25k on my rebuild. Maybe it's not even a miss. I'm thinking it has something to do w/my AFPR. Its' set-up a little different than most. If I get the rpms kinda high, like staging it's okay. But, when I'm cruising along and go wot, there's a slight miss/restriction until pressure builds in the line. Can't wait to get my triple gauge pod and some Autometers so I can see what's going on. As far as helmets, I have no clue what they're looking for. If you have an extra helmet, bring it please, I may just end up running so that I can see where I am before my next set of mods.

It'll be there. BTW, does anyone have a portable compressor of any kind. I'd like to run my tires down but without a source of air I won't be able to bring em back up if I let too much out...

I don't have a portable compressor, but if you let out too much air, worse case scenario is that we pull them off you car and haul them to the gas station. I believe there is one just outside the gates of the raceway. Last time I was there, there were some guys with compressors/generators so it probably won't be an issue. Oh well I better get to bed, gotta be a work early.
