Biggest tire

Definitely depends on the wheels and width of tire, but a 28" tall tire should fit. FWIW, several of us are running 27 x 10.50 tires on stock wheels on lowered cars without problems.

Wheels are 15 x 8 weld draglites. 5.5 backspacing. The tires on the car now are 275/60-15 street tires, 28" tall. I want to know if any one has 29.5 x9-15, or 30 x 9-15 slicks with a stock suspension and no body work.
The only place where there might be rubbing is the fender.
Help.

I don't know of anyone running either of those sizes. I'm running 28x11.50-16's on a pair of stock 16x7 XR7 wheels, lowered 1", without a problem. I'd be leary of the amount of squat you'll get with a stock suspension.

Race, how much space between the fender and tire?

These are the best pics I can find to show the clearance at the fender.

They get pretty close on the launch, but even with "unrolled" fender lips, they do clear. I run around 25 psi in the passenger side air bag and 18 psi in the driverside, which also help.
