Pulling studs from manifolds

So I just read a post that steered me away from getting headers. My studs in the manfolds have had the threads eaten away by the sands of time. And rust. What would you do to get them out? They are pretty solid in there.

The exhaust manifolds are held on by bolts. The studded parts are for mounting coolant lines, hoist loops, dipstick tubes, etc...

The threads that you see damaged will not interfere with removing the bolts.

I think he means the studs at the collector. You'll need a lot of heat to get those out....

Oops, the headers part threw me for a loop.

Since headers require different downtubes I would get a reciprocating saw and cut the tubes within a few inches of the manifold.

If you want to keep the stock manifolds then, like stated, you'll need some heat.
