Mod. 4cyl tach for SC motor

I have an 1989 4cyl. mustang with an 1989 SC motor in it and I was wondering if anyone knows how to modify the stock 4cyl. tach so that it reads the correct RPM from the V6 crank signals? I have heard of using a resistor placed on the back of the tach to change the signal but I am not sure how this is done.

Thanks for any help,
Ryan

yes

Take the trim off the cluster. There is a switch under the tach on the face. It says 4-6-8 switch it to 6 all done

I can not find the switch you are refering to. I did find a 20k resistor that will rotate with a small phillips screwdriver.
