Ok so ive searched and searched and seen how some guys have done the T-56 swap or the T-5 swap. I understand that the mustang 302 has the same bolt pattern as or 3.8 and in order to swap the stock T-5 from a stang to a T-45 you have to have a different bellhousing or adpater or something. I bring this up because I have a T-45 out of a 96 stang laying around that I want to put in my auto SC. So im theory, is this possible? Keeping in mind i have access to and and all tools needed. :D

T-45 swap

The T-5 and T-45 have different pilot bearings. The end of the shaft is a smaller diameter on the T-45 then on the T-5 and you would have to use the T-5 bellhousing. first gear is steeper on the T-45 then on the T-5 but they are a little weaker then the T-5. I have known people to take the T-5 out of there drag mustangs and replace them with T-45s to gain the steeper first gear. Hope this helps :)
