The 89-93 SC power antenna uses up/down momentary switch to raise and lower the antenna. Does the 94/95 use a momentary switch also? I want to install a power antenna in the wife's 95Lx and I currently have a power antenna out of a 92 SC.

Stationary Im pretty sure. Cheaper than a switch, wiring, and power antenna assembly, Im sure was the reason...

I believe the 94/95 SC has a power antenna. I was wondering what the difference between the 89-93 and 94/95 power antenna setup.

My black '94 has a power antenna but the opal frost '94 has a fixed antenna, never looked into it though.

Ah, so it was an option. I knew I had seen some fixed...

If this is the case. I'd say the only difference is Switch location. Unless they are the fun Lincoln type that use a signal from the radio...Smartest thing they ever did was start putting them in the rear glass. I thought that was genius the first time I saw that....

So how is the 94/95 power antenna activated?

By turning the radio on.

By turning the radio on.

Hmmm that's the way I want it to work.

Both my SC's & my 96 LX had power antennas that were actuated by turning the radio on. Since I have an Alpine deck in my SC, the antenna lowers when I switch from radio to CD. I don't think it did that with the factory radio.

My black '94 came with the 10 disc cd changer in the trunk, it doesn't matter if I'm listening to the radio, cassette or cd, if the radio's on the antenna is up.

Is it obvious yet that I know nothing about T-bird Antenna Function?

Todd, would it be possible to give the motor just a 12v switched to go either up or down?

That's what the switch just to the right of the radio is for.....

On all the SCs that I have with power antennas, they all have a switch that moves the antenna up and down or anywhere in between....:p

Not on 94/95's.

I agree....94/95's doesn't have a switch and the power antenna is a different part number as well when comparted to the earlier versions. When I parted out a 94 it had a power antenna...my 95 does not...yet. There is a note on the 94 power antenna I removed from the 94 that says do not apply 12v directly to the assembly connector. There is an intermediate box/module for the power antenna for a 94-95.

Think the 96-97 LX's use the same antenna as the 94-95's?

I parted a 94 SC out a couple years ago.
I failed to keep the power antenna and intermediate box/module. I remember seeing the module when removing the blend door motor.

Has anyone retrofited the 94-95 module and antenna? I am tired of moving the thing up and down. DUMB.
