I'm in Greenville, SC. Some of the guys down here (SC, GA) try to put together a lunch meet every month or so. I missed this month's meet. I had to swap my dad's engine in his truck that weekend. Hopefully, if we can put together an October meet I will be able to attend that one.

Different places. Usually it's a place for lunch right off of I-85. Whoever organizes it usually starts a thread about a lunch meet.

I think when you work out the specifics, send out an announcement and see what kind of response you get. I'm interested in meeting other SCers and shooting the s__t, but I won't have my car, it's not registered at the present time. I think it's a good idea! Keep us informed.

sweet. good to hear Kurt & Justin

we have a couple of options if anyone wants to meet at a drag strip.

-Carolina dragway in Jackson, SC
-Darlington dragway in Darlington, SC
-Clarendon county dragway in Summerton, SC (1/8 mile)

if nobody wants to meet at the strip we can do something else, thats fine

A saturday would be best for me but there's probably about a 20% chance I can make whatever date ya'll pick anyhow.

i say we do it at the house of hook, and do it on a thursday night.
$15 test and tune from 7 to 11. we could show off our v6 power, and run each other too.
Main thing I didn't like about thursday night was they didn't display any times and the 2 or 3 times I went there were a bunch of delays to clean the track from broken cars.

thunderkid84
10-08-2009, 09:15 PM
yes, saturday would just be better since, for most everyone its not a work night.

Kurt, u said house of hook displays times on saturdays ?
I only went a few times on thursdays and not within the last 4 years so take what I say for what it is.
I say the track is a good place because the people that want to race can and the ones that don't still have a place to hang out together, only thing is the entry fee for everyone. Eats can be had before or after if wanted.
I probably wouldn't race at this time due to the travel for me.
The important thing is to just get together the first time and then go from there. It's great to see interest at all! Just meet and if everyone has a good time it'll go from there.

BlownSix
10-08-2009, 10:06 PM
I know I won't be racing. Don't need anything else to break right now :p

Maybe we should see how many people want to race, and how many would just rather have a lunch/hangout meet..?

thunderkid84
10-08-2009, 10:26 PM
i agree with Kurt.

Tabitha, u dont have to go all out on the track. u can just take it down easy just to get a feel for it. practice your launches maybe.....

if anyone has another suggestion for a place to meet you're welcome to chime in.

but if everyone wants to just meet at Carolina Dragway we'll do that.

let me know

It might be a good idea to continue this discussion under a new thread with something about a get together/meet in the title to maybe get others that might not be following the original thread. Atlanta looks to be only 2- 1/2 hours from N.Augusta and there's a few of those guys that used to meet up pretty regularly.
