Electrical Gremlin

My car's been at the shop for almost three weeks during which time they've been installing all sorts of things. After extensive test drives a new gremlin has arisen. After driving if the radiator fan comes on, not immediately, the engine will slow more and more until the car dies. The same thing happens when the clutch is actuated. If the clutch is pushed in, the engine will idle slower and slower until the car dies. The mechanic is checking all the ground wires to make sure there isn't a bad ground but I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts. One speculation is that some wire got pinched or pulled off when the motor was lifted up in order to install new motor mounts.

Any thoughts at all would be appreciated.

Once the engine starts to slow down, how long does it take for it to die?
Have you checked the battery voltage while the engine is slowing down (by connecting a voltmeter to the cigarette outlet)?

There's a ground wire by the pass. side motor mount, maybe when they changed the motor mounts that wire got crushed between motor mount?

Just a thought.
