:pWell I didn't get to bring one of the XR7's so I ran the 93 5.0 daily driver. It was slow but was nice and consistent for the bracket class. My three runs in elimination rounds were 16.731 @ 83.74mph, 16.763 @ 83.74mph, and 16.697 @ 83.96mph. I lost on a -.026 red light. Definately a good time racing again and being at my first shootout. Even at the turtle speeds it's still fun trying to nail a good light and seeing if you can get to the finish before the car screaming up from behind in the other lane.

Nice to meet you Kurt! Too bad we didn't get a chance to chat-it-up some more - you'll have to come for the weekend next time. ;)

Thanks again for the extra helmet offer. I don't know the rules for sure, but I kept hearing "if you're in the 13's you need a helmet". I know the "track" wasn't strict on the NHRA rules, but I'm sure it made my wife feel better. ;)

Nice meeting you too Matt, and the few others I was able to meet, the day went by fast. I'm definately planning to make the whole weekend next time. I had my 25 year high school reunion Saturday night and had never made it to one of those yet either otherwise I would have been there all 3 days this time.
I forgot to mention that my best run was a 16.54 and was holding first until 5,000 rpm, but it still shifted out of 2nd at 4,500rpm and crossed the line at 3,500 rpm! If I hadn't made that run I think I would have made the bottom of the shootout's fastest list. Right now the last guy is listed at 16.55.:p
