Ive been getting crap for switching to 5spd for quite some time now, yes I blew a few up:o, but most of the comments were. "why'd you go stick, you'll be slower at the track" In some cases that can be true BUT, Read it and weap aod guys. :p

Backed that up with another 13.5 pass with a 8.753 1/8, almost identical 1/8mi et

And my best aod pass:
60ft 1.8861
330ft 5.6060
1/8 8.6701
1/8 mph 81.80
1/4 et 13.5542
1/4 mph 100.21

Im done being a smart~~~ now, Corey:D

I've never given you crap and I myself prefer 5-speeds but it looks like you may be proving your detractors point. Your 60 ft was better with the aod and your mph shows you were making more power, maybe from the nice cool weather, and that got you the same et despite the slower 60ft.
Great times either way! Probably more fun with the manual to.

Yep, that thing is blowing up, you just haven't realized it yet.

haha

You have to be the only person alive to make more HP with an automatic but go slower....

As long as it blows up slowly enough for me to get some better slicks, line locks, a 2 step, and pay off my bills:o

Lol you punks, shes running like a top(knock on wood). I am confident it can run a lower e.t with some better tires and a few race secrets that have yet to be tested:eek:

Doesn't sound like all the trouble you've had with the 5 speed was worth only going .015 second quicker  I can gain that much just by emptying my ash tray.

Ouch, and hey I picked up some mph too. Ill try to get to the track one more time and I plan to beat that number by more, I took it easy far from home also.

haha, naw, my foot was on the floor the whole pass, just a bit early shifts and 2800 rpm launches. I redlighted first round, I didnt have a chance to sandbag:(

sandbaggers

I have done this at events before. When I was far from home and had no trailer I set up guidelines for racing that I would not break from - 3000rpm launch, shift at 5500rpm. I don't consider this sandbagging because I didn't do it to slow the car down and I didn't change my strategy half way through the event.

I also ran my best ever doing this exact thing, 450miles from home - 12.09 ET.

Thats DOING WORK, haha. I had the oppertunity to trailor the car, I probably would have went a bit quicker. I really just wanted to drive the car there to show that its not broke all the time, and has some reliability:o
