IC location

Had idea about putting the IC in the hood, well sandwiched between the support and the outside skin.

Intakes scoops similar to ram air, inside of hood sealed to keep engine heat out and figure hood be about 3-4" thick and sloped to the edges. Would require new upper to redirect charge air into hood, and of course new IC tubes.

Just an idea any comments on this?

It's been done before using the stock air to air unit sticking out of the top of the hood. Not sure if there was any benefit other than someone just playing around with welding tubes.

I wasn't thinking of using the stock IC but a much larger one, thinking of about 1/4 the hood area.

That's how Subaru does it. But that's with a boxer 4.

Not what I'm talking about they use an intake in the hood to duct air to the engine bay where the IC is. I'm talking actually having the IC in the Hood.
