IAC Voltage

I'm having a problem with the idle on my 95 SC, very low . When running in park the voltage reading between the two pins at the selenoid starts at 6 and slowly decays all the way down to less than 1. Is this normal? I think maybe the PCM is not fuctioning properply and allowing the volts to drop, therby not opening the IAC to maintain the correct idle RPM. The IAC selenoid checks out ok, no short and the ohms are within the spec. Question should the PCM be replaced?

Try switching over to A/C volts.. The voltage to the IAC is pulsed. If you're reading DC, it probably won't read properly. You really need an oscilloscope to see if its getting the right signal.

You do need to read it on DC volts, it is pulsed, but the voltage will show as an average. Basically the longer the pulses the higher the voltage. Not many people have an O-scope but a nice Fluke or Simpson meter with the bargraph does a very good job.

What made you look at the IAC? Does it just die?
