push the white ring into the slave. It will disengage some teeth. Autozone, oreilys etc will sell a $5 tool for it.

New slave cylinders also come with the tool. I was able to get it after a very long time and a few swear words without the tool.

if done it a dozen times on my many supercoupes

i have it down to a science i can disengage the hydraulic line usually on my first try

just push back on the white collar with two flatheads on opposite sides, i usually do that and give it a wiggle and a tug and it pulls right on out

also, the new hydraulic lines that rockauto.com sells comes with a new designed collar sleeve that makes it very easy to disconnect.
