1990sc headlight conversion to 97 and hard shifting trans

I am just wondering what how to do the wireing for the newer lights, I cut all the wires off the donor car 97lx I have all the stuff I just need to know how to hook it up, Also my automatic trans has a hard downshift and stiff upshifts, I changed the black fluid in pan, did gasket and filter, improved but still hard, now the fluid is brownish red, if I flush it, should this vlear up? or do all t birds shift hard?
