Early Model Porting Question

When porting the M90s, the thing that really benefits them is getting air under the rotors? Thats what I understand based on the posts and threads I've read so far. If thats the case, can one cut the bottom of the case and make an inlet that stretched under the rotors maybe 50% to let air in? Of course that would include welding the case to make the opening larger so that air could get under there, but would that be possible?

Nope. Look at pictures of the later model m90 as well as the mp series. In fact, the mp2 was the earlier m90 with a plate epoxied in to fill in the bottom.

The filling of the rotors happens at the end of the rotors at the inlet.
