Parts

Many of us here either have or contiune to build parts for MN-12s'. I still build rear torsional braces and rear shock braces. I also (giving away a secret here) do braces for Fox body cars.

I make 3.5" intake tubes (alluminum) for cheap!

any pictures? I am looking for a two piece one that sets the filter behind the front bumper not soaking in engine bay heat...

like this: http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/7549/l9bc3ede8a414df8f1d7c68.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/mqtautoparts/89_thunderbird38SC.jpg

except I was thinking for the top piece maybe use a honda pipe so it will curve around the strut tower a little bit instead of being straight like the above one... this piece is the one of which I speak: you can get them on ebay for like $20, then just a 90" to go down through and I think it would work out. Probably try it before too long, if it don't work I am sure I can sell it to some honda kid around here

I dont always go for cheapest when looking for alum tube. I have to make a new 3.5" tube once I get the new TB & MAF from Dave. Some tube is extra thin some is chinese junk and not the best material to weld. Mine has to be fit and welded to allow the cone filter to hide under that side panel. Than polished and chromed to look just right. I have been known to be particular about those kinds of things:rolleyes:

Check dr fishbourne's garage he has one on his car otherwise i can snap some pictures its pretty thick stuff about 1/8" wall they had a bunch of it at work I cut it at an angle and rotate it, tig it back together and clean up the inside with long carbide burs (where its welded) Anyway you dont loose any ID size from the bend because its not bent! I'l snap some pics for you my SC is in pieces so i cant get one of the tube on the car but i can get one of the intake tube itself. I leave them longer than what you need so you can cut it off depending on how long your filter is and where you want it to sit. My tubes have the proper bend over and down as a straight piece of tubbing will NOT work! I rough polish them with a air sander and buffing pads from course to medium to fine but if you want a REALY shiny finish you have to do some more polishing or if you want to paint them thats no big deal eaither. These are NOT the thin wall crap that you get in ebay CAI kits and should keep the heat out a little better plus if you drop one it wont get a big nasty dent in it!

Here are a couple pictures of the one on matts car (hope you dont mind matt!)

I just installed a 3.5" x .065" 304 Stainless Steel intake tube, with a 15 degree bend, using a 3.5" to 4" silicone 45 degree transition to my L-MAF, then a 4" tube to the cone filter behind the bumper.
