MAF Sensor

I have a question about the testing of the MAF sensor. I've been told that if I unhook my MAF sensor and the car still idles the same, then the sensor is ok. I was just wondering what the reasoning is behind this. I would think the result would be opposite. Anyway, could anyone answer this for me? Just curious.

Thanks

Yeah...No. Or, yeah I can answer that and no that is not correct (much). The MAF can cause some crazy stuff to happen. USUALLY it creates a full throttole bog that makes the car hard to drive from about 1/2ish maybe 3/4 throttle to full throttle. Unplug the MAF and key the car up twice. THEN drive it and it should run normally with the exception of the CE light.

Thanks. Yeah, it didn't seem right but I saw a few times where someone said they didn't notice a difference after unplugging it and then get told that it was ok. I unplugged mine recently and nothing changed. When I posted that, it seemed normal to others so I was confused. :D

There is a term I am unfamiliar with...Key the car up twice.

Could you explain that to someone with limited car knowledge?

Thanks!

Thanks in advance for an explanation!
