Ok so it's 99 cobra powered but still!. Finally got it started. Need to work out some clutch pedal issues (not happy with it), Shifter extention box, air suspension issues (think I blew the o ring out of compressor) and basically lil things here and there. Im just so happy its finally running. I get an hour every few months to work on it!
See video.

No big plans for this except to make it a decent shifting 5 speed lsc for now. Only mod will be exhaust! Its a low budget build! Hopfeully I can get it all together.

Nice, but I dont think that is an LSC unless the bumpers were changed.
Glad you got it to work .

Its an lsc 93 s far as I know...Not that it matters much at this point eh haha? Are you thinking because of the chrome?

The use of the LSC trim in the Mark VIIIs was not used till late 95 and they had special perforated seating and no chrome trim on the bumpers and side mouldings they also had a tru dual exhaust. ;)
They look like this.

That is awesome !!! .. way to put my fake Cobra mark powered Tbird to shame.. :D
Do you have a tune or is that running off the stock Mark EEC ??

Im using stock Mark VIII EEC with coil pack instead of coil on plug. Still has stock EEC tune and idles smooth as a babies butt. Im sure for max performance a tune should be in order but Ifor now it probably can handle it. I'm just debating what to do now with the pedal setup as I wasnt happy with it. The mark viii happens to have wires and the EEC right where the pedal goes! Currently its a cable setup...I just want to modify it a bit to keep it away from the wiring.
I have no CEL and it starts right up!..
And dude. I LOVE what your doing to that tbird. It blows away this car believe me!

That is very nice. Mine runs about the same - I actually fixed the 3000 RPM idle problem and its smooth right about 750-800 rpm's. When you first start it it hangs a little over 1000 for a few seconds and then drops down. I think thats the nature of the Mark. But there are no CEL or anything.

WHat di dyou use to tune it with?
I am also using the stock Mark EEC, no tune. My idle problem turned out to be a major vacuum leak.

Ah left the plate out from behind the throttle body?

Ah left the plate out from behind the throttle body?
:D Youre good. Yeah, the 97/98 Mark 8 TB I am using has these two holes that go to a chamber in the middle - I am assuming it is for an integrated IAC in the TB for the Mark intake manifold - and on top of that, the previous owner of my Cobra intake cut the center section out for an aftermarket throttle body, so there is nothing behind the TB to block this area .. I filled the whole cavity in the TB with RTV and made a gasket with Teflon sheet as a backing. Should be fine, but yeah I am looking for a Cobra TB to replace this one with for peace of mind. Sorry for hijacking your thread Damon.

Information is always a good thing! All I did was post a video of an engine running because I was thrilled it started!

Yeah left the plate out on my dad's marauder looking for the cause of a MIL. Started the car and was like, hell this thing is idleing fast.

Nice! If you need help with the Air Ride just PM me. I have a 96 LSC and have been through troubleshooting and replacing most of it.

Ive been looking for this plate since you mentioned it, cant seem to find any information. There is actually a plate directly between the Throttle body and intake manifold ??
All of the pictures Ive seen of the 99+ Cobra and Maurader Intake manifolds and TB's, have the IAC integrated like the 97/98 Mark TB, so it pulls air through the two holes in the TB bores. Even the 93-96 Mark has the IAC integrated TB - it seems the only one that does not have this is the 96-98 Cobra.
Damon - If you need air suspension parts, I might have a complete setup in my spare parts pile - everything from compressor to airlines and bags. ;)

Dan,
I had jump started the compressor because I couldnt orriginally figure out why it wasnt turning on. I think I either blew the oring between the evap canister and motor or did something to motor itself to not allow it to build pressure. everything else seems to be working just no air pumping the bags up..and all 4 bags arent popped!
So maybe the compressor And thanks! How much would you want?

Have you tried checking with soapy water ??
If youre not getting any air, but the compressor runs it could be the Vent solenoid on the compressor went bad and is not opening to allow air to the dryer.
The Compressor / Dryer I have was in working condition when removed from a 1994 Mark .. Ill need to re-check it again. Rubber mounts are gone of course.

I tried soapy water at the collar nuts at dryer..I get a lil bubbling..I was told if I pull the lines out Ill know just how much air im getting..I should know if its pumping@...If the solenoid goes wouldnt I hear something like escaping air?

There should be a steady stream of bubbles if there is a leak. Also spray between the compressor and dryer - see if it is leaking there. I usually use Windex but Ive been messing with air suspension for over 10 years - this 1/16" airline rarely has air leaks.
It may be hard to hear an air leak over the sound of the compressor also, but if the vent solenoid is open you should be able to feel air coming out.
If the compressor doesnt run on its own, there must be a problem with the relay, wiring or computer. Even if you can get the compressor to run you need to open the solenoids to raise the car up.

It all works fine now as far as cycling by itself. Car had an issue I resolved. But before I found teh issue I jumpd the pump and let it run hoping to raise the car. Unfortunately I didnt realize teh solenoids had to be open./..So Im wondering If I fouled the pump, the oringat dryer or maybe the vent solenoid. Motor seems fine with no odd noises
Mayeb I need to see if I can feel vent venting
